Anita Rogers Gallery represents a diverse roster of emerging, mid career and posthumous artists whose work speaks to the contemporary landscape of the 20th and 21st centuries. The gallery, active in both primary and secondary markets, strives to cultivate the careers of exceptional painters and sculptors, both figurative and abstract, who have earned their place in the contemporary art market.

If you follow us on social media, you have probably seen us feature the artwork that was juried into the 2022 exhibition.  After the exhibition Opening Reception, we continued to promote the exhibition and the artists throughout the year.  We are happy that some of the artists featured actually sold the piece they entered!

  • Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 entries.
  • Call for entry begins June 27, 2023.

  • The Art2Life Online International Art Exhibition is open to all artists 18 years or older.
  • Entrants will be emailed the results of the jurying on August 25, 2023.  We will not answer inquiries about the jurying results prior to August 25, 2023.
  • This juried exhibition will be hosted on the Art2Life website beginning August 29, 2023, and will be promoted through our social media channels.
  • Work submitted must be original and created by entrant.
  • This show is accepting only 2D mediums including painting, mixed media, collage, monoprints, monotypes, drawings and digital art.  Artwork submitted must have been created within the last 24 months. (The following mediums are not eligible for entry: sculpture, bas relief, photographs, scanography, photograms, fabric art, assemblage.
    For the purpose of the A2L Art Exhibition, digital art is defined as work made with digital technology.  This includes images done completely on computer or hand-drawn images scanned into a computer and finished using a software program.  
    Photography can only be considered if it is altered from its original image - this does not include minor adjustments to an image keeping the image likeness of the original in the process.)
  • There are no size restrictions. This is an online art exhibition and does not require work to be shipped.
  • Artists retain 100% of the proceeds from any sales of art derived from the art exhibition.
  • Once you have entered, no refunds will be allowed.

ENTRY DETAILS

Q. When is the entry period and deadline?
A.  The entry period begins on June 27, 2023
and the deadline for submissions is July 25, 2023 at 11:59am PDT.

Q. When will the artists be notified if they were selected for the exhibition?

A.  Notification with the results of the jurying will be emailed on August 25, 2023.

Q: Who can enter this competition?

A: Any artist 18 years or older may enter this competition.  There is no Art2Life online program, class or workshop requirement to enter.  In addition, there is no residency, educational degree or gallery representation requirements.               

Q. What is the cost to enter and how many pieces can I enter?

A. The entry fee is $40 and each artist can enter up to 3 pieces of artwork.

Q. What type of payments are acceptable for the entry fee?

A. The entry fee is payable in US dollars via any major credit card or PayPal.

Q: What type of artwork can I submit?

A:  This show is accepting only 2D mediums including painting, mixed media, collage, monoprints, monotypes, drawings and digital art.  Submissions must be the Entrant’s original work. 
Artwork submitted must have been created within the last 24 months.

Q. Is there any subject matter that is not acceptable?

A. Your work must fit the criteria of 2D medium (listed above).  All subject matter is acceptable and entries will be curated by the juror. 

Q: How do I submit my work?

A: Once you have paid your entry fee of $40, you will be emailed a link to submit your artwork. Please make sure you have everything you need for your submission (see next question!).  Once you start your submission, you will not be able to save it and return to complete it.  Also, once your work has been submitted, you will not be able to make changes to your entry.

Q: What do I need to have ready to complete the online application? Do I need to upload a statement or resume?

A: You will need the following:

  • Credit Card or PayPal account for entry fee
  • Please submit well lit, sharp images of your artwork saved in jpeg format.  Please be sure your image is in focus, high quality, properly lit, and save it as a jpeg at 1200 pixels in its longest dimension and title using this format: 

"Entry #_Title of artwork_size_year created.jpg"

              (Submissions not properly named may not be accepted.)

  • Personal information: Name, Email, Phone, City, State, Country
  • Website and/or Social Media Account
  • Art Submissions: Title of your work, Size, Medium, Year Created, Price (or NFS)
  • Up to 3 Images saved as jpegs to the specifications below.
  • No resume or artist statement is required

Q: Do I need to upload a statement or resume?

A: No resume or artist statement is required.

Q. How do I title my image  file?

A. Please save/title your image as follows:

"Entry #_Title of artwork_size_year created.jpg"

(example:  1_Journey Home_24x24_2023)

Q. Are there any size restrictions for the artwork being submitted?

A. No, this is an online art exhibition so there are no size restrictions.

Q. How should I save my image and what size should it be?

A. Please be sure your image is in focus, high quality, properly lit, and save it as a jpeg at 1200 pixels in its longest dimension.

Q. How do I know if my image is 1200 pixels?

A. This is device dependent, so we recommend doing a google search for instructions on how to find this on your specific device. 

Q. Can I enter a diptych or triptych?

A. Yes, however the diptych or triptych must be entered as one jpeg.

Q. Does the artwork need to be a current piece?

A. Artwork submitted must have been created within the last 24 months.


Q. Is there any discount for Art2Life Academy, SPARK or CVP members?

A. No, there is no discount or coupon code for the exhibition.

Q. Can I submit an image I submitted to another exhibition?

A. Yes.

Q. Do I need to cover my signature that’s on the painting since it’s a blind jurying?

A. While we don't require you to cover your signature, you are welcome to do so if you'd like to.

ART EXHIBITION 

Q. When will the online gallery be available to view the artwork selected?

A. The online art exhibition will be published and open to the public on August 29, 2023.


Q. Will my artwork be published in other places other than the online exhibit?

A.  Yes, if selected your artwork will be promoted on all of our social media channels.

Q:  Will artwork selected for the exhibition have a sales component?

A:   The exhibition website does not offer ecommerce or sales of the artwork. However, all artists selected will have the option of providing their website which will be posted with their work.

Q. Will the artwork be for sale on the online exhibition gallery?

A. No, not through the online exhibition gallery.  However, the entry form will ask if your artwork is "Available, NFS." A2L will not offer any of your artwork for sale; however, we will encourage anyone interested in purchasing a piece to contact the artist directly.  Artists will  retain 100% of the sale of any piece of artwork.  

Q. Do I need to ship the art?

A. No, the artwork will be exhibited in the A2L online gallery only. 

Q. Should the price I list my artwork at include shipping costs?

A. When pricing your art, you should decide whether to include the shipping costs with the price of the art or charge for the shipping separately.  

Q. Is there a theme or concept for this show?

A. There is not a specific theme for this show. 

Q. Do you have to be an Art2Life member to participate?

A. No, you do not need to have taken an Art2Life Program or Workshop to submit. 

Q. Do you accept scanography/photography?

A. This year's exhibition will not be accepting scanography, but we will consider it for future shows if and when we decide to accept photography.

Q. Do you accept linocuts?

A. Yes, we will accept linocuts.

Q. Does the work have to be matted and framed?

A. It would be best if you have an image of the artwork unframed /un-matted. 



JURYING 

Q. Who is the Juror?

A. The juror is Anita Rogers, owner of the Anita Rogers Gallery in New York City..

Q: How does the jurying  process work?

A: This show is done by “blind” jurying where the juror is unable to see the name of the artist – only the title, size and medium will be viewable with the jpeg of the art.

 

Q: Does the juror see my name when reviewing the work?

A: No. We use a “blind” jurying process which means that the only materials presented to the juror are images, media and dimensions of your work, accompanied by the reference number that you are assigned. The juror will have no knowledge of your name, gender, age, level of education or any other personal information. Some of the questions in our online application are required, and some are not. Items that are required are for internal purposes only.

 

Q: What styles do jurors usually look for (abstract, realism, etc.)?

A: The jurors are given strict instructions to consider all of the work that has been submitted, regardless of any personal preferences that they may have.  We encourage the juror to consider a wide range of aesthetics.


Q. How many pieces of artwork will be selected?

A. Our Juror, Anita Rogers, will be responsible for determining the amount of artwork that will be selected for the art exhibition.  

Q. Is it possible to get more than one piece of artwork in the show?

A. No.  Only one piece of artwork from each artist will be considered for the art exhibition. 

Q. When will we be notified of the results?

A: This year the awards will be selected by our Juror, Anita Rogers, and are as follows:

Q: Can I receive the award payment in my currency?

A: The awards are paid in US dollars.
